Business Credit Cards

Compare business credit cards without the sales pitch

Most “best business credit card” roundups rank by which issuer pays the highest affiliate bounty, then work backward to a reason. We don't have a single issuer partnership yet, so there's nothing to work backward from here — just the fee, rewards, APR, and credit-score facts pulled straight from each issuer's terms, sorted by what actually differs.

Cards on this list charge no annual fee at all
The remaining fee-based cards only pay for themselves through category bonuses or credits you'd actually use — the $695/yr Business Platinum Card® is the most expensive, and it's built around travel perks, not everyday cash back.

The trap in bonus-category cards: rates like 5% or 3% almost always cap at a combined annual spend threshold (commonly $25,000-$50,000/yr across this list), then quietly drop to 1% for the rest of the year. Check the cap against your actual annual spend in that category before picking a card for its headline rate.

No annual fee doesn't mean no fees. Several $0-annual-fee cards on this list — the Chase Ink cards, Bank of America's Business Advantage cards, Wells Fargo Signify — still charge a 3% foreign transaction fee. If your business pays any vendors or contractors overseas, that fee can cost more per year than a card with a modest annual fee and no foreign transaction fee at all.

Frequently asked questions

What credit score do I need for a business credit card?

Most cards on this page want good to excellent personal credit (roughly 670+), since issuers still check the owner's personal credit for most small-business cards. A few, like the Capital One Spark Classic and Discover it Business, are more accessible to fair or good credit. Card-issuing fintechs like Brex and Ramp underwrite against business cash balance or revenue instead of a personal credit score.

Will a business credit card affect my personal credit?

It depends on the issuer and the card. Most traditional bank business cards require a personal guarantee, so missed payments can show up on your personal credit, and some issuers report account activity to personal credit bureaus even when payments are on time. Charge-card fintechs like Brex and Ramp are structured with no personal guarantee and typically don't touch personal credit at all — check each issuer's terms, since this varies card to card.

What's the difference between a business credit card and a charge card?

A credit card lets you carry a balance month to month at an APR. A charge card (Amex Business Platinum, Capital One Spark Cash Plus, Brex, Ramp) must be paid in full each cycle — there's no revolving balance or published APR, which usually comes with a higher or more flexible spending limit in exchange.

Do I need an LLC or corporation to apply?

No — sole proprietors and freelancers can apply for most business credit cards using their own Social Security number and a description of their business activity. You don't need to be incorporated first.

How is commission handled on this page?

We don't have partnerships with any of these issuers yet, so nothing on this page is monetized — the links go straight to each issuer's site with no tracking or referral code. When we do sign issuer partnerships, ranking and content will stay separate from that commission data, the same rule we apply to our software recommendations.

We don't have partnerships with any of these issuers yet, so these links go straight to each issuer's official page — no affiliate tracking, no rebate. Rates, fees, and offers are set by the issuers and change over time; confirm current terms on their site before applying. When we do sign issuer partnerships, they'll follow the same blind-ranking rule as our software recommendations: what we're paid never affects which card is shown first. Read our methodology.
